Repeating Patterns in Relationships: Where They Come From
A practitioner's map of repeating relationship patterns: habits, family-line scenarios and outside influence, plus questions to see which one fits your story.

A repeating relationship pattern is a similar problem that returns with different partners, such as the same argument or the same kind of ending. Energy work sorts these patterns into three possible sources: personal habits, the family line and outside influence. In my practice a reading helps tell them apart. In a relationship in crisis, practical support such as a counselor comes first.
What counts as a repeating relationship pattern
A single difficult relationship is not a pattern. A pattern shows up at least twice, often more, in a recognizable shape. Common examples include choosing partners who are unavailable, always being the one who gives in, leaving before a hard conversation starts, or repeating the same argument with a new person.
Patterns often show up in small details first: the same quiet withdrawal after a good week, or the same phrase that starts every fight. Noticing those details is more useful than judging the whole relationship at once. Listing three past relationships can make the shape visible. Look for what they share, even if the people themselves were very different.
A pattern is not proof that you are to blame, and it is not proof that the other person is. It is a shape you can see from the outside, which is why it helps to put it on paper and look at it calmly.
Three places patterns come from: habits, the family line, outside influence
In my framework patterns usually come from one of three places, and some come from more than one.
- Personal habits and choices. These are the ways you respond, communicate and choose. This is the most common source, and the one you can change most directly.
- Family-line programs. These are what you learned about love, conflict and commitment at home. In my framework they are ancestral, and they need a different format and timeline.
- Outside influence. This is sent negativity, such as envy from someone around the couple, or an unkind word that stayed with you.
Most people find that one source feels more familiar than the others. Notice which one makes you nod, then check whether the reading agrees. Your first reaction is useful information, but it is not the whole picture. The reading shows which source seems to be present, and I do not assume one in advance.
Practical checks first: communication, boundaries and support
Before you look for a spiritual cause, check the practical side. These questions are simple and often revealing.
- Can you say what you need in one clear sentence, without apology?
- Do you have boundaries about time, money and privacy, and do you keep them?
- Who in your life can you talk to openly about this?
- If the relationship involves threats or any risk of harm, contact local emergency services or a helpline first.
If a relationship involves fear, control or threats, your safety comes before any reflection. In the United States, call 911 in an emergency. For confidential support, call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233 or text START to 88788. Energy work is never a substitute for that help, and it can sit beside the practical checks above.
How I read a pattern from a photo and date of birth
A full written reading, with Tarot and a pendulum, is the recommended start when you are not sure what you need, and it begins with a photo, your date of birth and your written consent. Within 48 hours I tell you what I see, where the pattern seems to come from (outside influence, the family line or both) and how many sessions you would actually need.
Before you send anything, it helps to write down one example of the pattern. Note what happened, what you felt and what you did next. A short paragraph is enough, and it gives the reading something concrete to look at.
I cannot read another person's mind, and I do not work on another person's will. A reading does not judge the other person's character. It describes what seems to be running in your own story and what could be done about it.
Clearing, harmonization, attraction: the order I work in
If a clearing is needed, it starts with a short initial check, and then I follow the same order as in all my work. Clearing removes what is in the way. Harmonization brings balance. Attraction focuses on what you ask for, which means your readiness and your own choices.
A clearing is not a judgment about who is right in a relationship. It works on what sits between you and your own choices, and it does not decide the other person's behavior.
I do not offer love spells or any work to bring someone back. Attraction work is about you, not about a particular person. A relationship clearing is $800, and I offer it only when the reading supports it. You can see the details on the relationship clearing page.
Self-reflection questions to name your own pattern
Take twenty minutes with a notebook and answer these questions truthfully.
- Which situations keep coming back, and what do they have in common?
- What role do I usually play in them, for example the rescuer, the peacemaker or the one who leaves?
- What did I see at home about how partners argued or made up?
- Which part of this pattern could I change this month, without anyone else's help?
- Which part needs a counselor or a direct conversation?
Keep the notebook private. Your answers are the start of the reading, not a verdict.
FAQ
Is a repeating relationship pattern always karmic?
Not necessarily. Some people in energy work use the word karmic for repeated lessons, but many patterns come from habits and family learning. A reading shows what the pattern seems to be, and that is only a starting point.
Can a clearing make someone come back to me?
No. I do not work to bring anyone back or to influence another person's feelings or will. My work is about you, your patterns and your readiness.
How do I know whether I need a reading or a counselor?
If there is any risk to your safety, contact emergency services first. If the pattern affects your daily life, a counselor can offer practical tools. A reading adds a spiritual view, and I will tell you plainly if I think something else is needed.
How many sessions does a relationship clearing take?
It depends on the reading, and I do not sell more sessions than the reading supports. A relationship clearing is $800, and a reading can show that the situation needs something other than a clearing, such as a direct conversation or a counselor.
