How Much Does a Tarot Reading Cost? What Shapes the Price

Why tarot reading prices range so widely, what you pay for at each level, how my $200 reading and $100 one-question format compare, and what to watch for.

A full tarot reading with me costs $200, or $140 for new clients. A one-question reading costs $100. Tarot prices vary widely because readers charge for different things: time, depth, format and experience. The fairest comparison looks at what each price includes, not only the number on the page.

Why tarot prices vary so much

Two readings with the same name can take very different amounts of work. One reader answers a single question from a few cards. Another looks at several areas of a situation, asks for more detail and writes a longer answer. Both can be sincere, but they are not the same service, so comparing numbers alone tells you little.

Before you compare, ask what each price covers and whether you will receive it in writing. If a reader cannot describe the work in a few plain sentences, the price is hard to compare with anything else.

What drives the price: time, depth, format and experience

  • Time. A short answer to one question takes less preparation than a full reading that looks at several parts of a life or a home.
  • Depth. A reading that looks at patterns, where they come from and what to do next asks more of the reader than a quick card for a simple question.
  • Format. Live video, voice calls and written answers each take different work. My readings start from a photo and a date of birth, and the answer comes in writing, so you can read it again.
  • Experience. Training, practice and the care put into each answer. Judge that from how the reader explains the work and which limits they state, not from big claims.

Per-minute lines vs. fixed-price readings

Some readers charge by the minute, and others set a fixed price. A per-minute line can cost more than you planned, because the clock keeps running while you think or while the conversation drifts. A fixed price tells you the total before you start, so ask which model a reader uses before you book.

If you do choose a per-minute line, set a limit before you start and agree when the call will end. That keeps the cost in your hands rather than in the clock.

What my full reading and one-question reading include

A full reading is $200; your first one with me is $140 (30% off). It uses Tarot and a pendulum, and it starts from a photo, your date of birth and your consent. Within 48 hours I tell you what I see, where it seems to come from and how many sessions you would actually need. You can read more on the energy reading page.

The one-question reading costs $100. It fits when you already know exactly what you want to ask and do not need a wider look. If you are unsure which to pick, the full reading gives more context, because it looks at the layers before the single question. The first reading is also the simplest way to see how a reader works, their method and their limits, before you commit to anything larger.

Pricing red flags: upsells, curse warnings and pay-to-remove offers

Watch for these patterns, whichever reader you choose:

  • Warnings of a hex or curse that must be lifted today, followed by a demand for payment.
  • Upsells that appear after the first answer, each one more urgent than the last.
  • "Pay to remove" offers with no reading and no explanation.
  • Promises of a fixed outcome in love or money. A reader who makes such promises is not offering honest work.

A calm reader will answer your question and then let you decide. Pressure is a sign to slow down.

How to decide what is worth paying for

Ask three questions before you book. What exactly does the price cover, and how long will it take? Will the answer be in writing, and when will I receive it? Will I be told honestly if I do not need anything more?

Bring one clear question, written in your own words, with a short note about what has already happened. That gives the reader something specific to answer, and it makes the price easier to judge. A reader who answers all three questions clearly is easier to trust.

FAQ

How much does a tarot reading cost with you?

A full reading is $200, or $140 for new clients, and a one-question reading is $100. Prices are in US dollars and are listed on the services page. Clearings are priced separately, so a reading is a good first step if you are not sure which service fits.

Why do tarot reading prices vary so much?

Prices reflect time, depth, format and the care that goes into the answer. Mine include a written answer, which takes time to prepare and gives you something to reread later. A quick card for a simple question takes less work than a full reading that looks at several parts of a situation.

Is a cheaper tarot reading worse?

Not necessarily. A short, lower-priced reading can be fair when you have one clear question. Before you book, ask whether the reader gives the answer in writing, because a verbal answer is hard to check a week later.

Can a tarot reading replace professional advice?

No. Tarot is a spiritual practice, so it does not replace a doctor, a lawyer or a financial advisor. If money keeps running out, look at the numbers with an advisor before you book another reading, and let a reading help you think about the next step.
